The Carbon Cycle.
The carbon cycle has functioned for millennia without issue, with carbon capture and carbon release in balance. However, man has cut down 46% of forests worldwide reducing nature's capacity to absorb CO2 from the air. Through industrialization, man has also become reliant on burning fossil fuels for energy, releasing huge quantities of CO2 from carbon stored millions of years ago back into the atmosphere, putting the carbon cycle out of balance.
To tackle the climate emergency, we need to rebalance the carbon cycle, and give nature a helping hand. This means we all need to act on multiple fronts:
We need to reduce the amount of fossil fuels we burn and use alternative sources of energy.
